The brilliance of this game is in the details. But, on other levels, I was racing a sheep, super meat boy-ing through a jungle of explosives, and much more. Sure, in most of the levels, you are working towards the primary goal of golf – hitting the flag and putting the ball. My father-in-law is one of those people that enjoy it, but I don’t think he qualifies as a lover of WHAT THE GOLF? To truly appreciate this Game, you’ll have to throw away everything you know and learned about golf, and expect the unexpected. Why would someone hit a ball with a club, trying to get into the hole (and that times 18!). WHAT THE GOLF? It starts easy enough, with actual golf balls and clubs, teaching you the robes of the sport known as ‘golf.’ It’s one of those sports I never truly understood.
Some courses were brilliant or hilarious, others so absurd they will make you go: WHAT THE GOLF? So it’s time to bring your car to the Driving Range, golf a bird to get a Birdy, or a house and get a Home In One! We challenged the least realistic golfing Game out there, and 100% in a mere 8 hours of fun and frustration. The award-winning silly physics-based golf parody where every golf course is a new surprising type of golf is finally out on the Nintendo Switch.
It’s probably one of the most not-about-golf-game about there. I did enjoy WHAT THE GOLF? To the fullest, however. Yes, that is an actual quote from the devs of WHAT THE GOLF? I do know some people that tend to enjoy golf, but I don’t get the ‘fun’-part about golf. WHAT THE GOLF? It is all about other things than actual golf, so let’s make that par!
Welcome to our Nintendo Switch review for WHAT THE GOLF? If you are looking for the Apple Arcade version, look no further – it’s right here! I did not review the Apple Arcade version, so I won’t be able to point out any differences (you will have to do for yourself)! But, trying a game like this for the first time is a magical moment, I assure you that much.
